Heterogeneous compute is an emerging trend is performance scaling. Due to the demise of Moore's law, this strategy has become highly relevant to the next generation applications including deep-learning.

Heterogeneous computational architecture is the future path to building faster computers and applications. A great example is the recent announcement by the Department of Energy (DoE) to build the next generation exascale computer using heterogeneous architecture.
