The chat bot development space has evolved tremendously over the last years. The platforms and tooling around building conversational experiences are accessible to any developer. More and more enterprises are looking at chat bots as part of their automation strategies from IT help desk to health care to finance. In this talk we explore the core concepts and skills necessary to building chat bots. We show how to reutilize the efforts to have one automated chat bot run voice and text conversations via mobile, phone, web and messaging platforms.

Szymon Rozga has been building chat bots for the past 2.5 years and has built a practice around them at BlueMetal. He talks to multiple clients a week about how to best design, build and deploy these solutions. He authored Practical Bot Development: Designing and Building Bots with Node.js and Microsoft Bot Framework on Apress. In his position as Chief Architect of Emerging Technologies, he helps client utilize technologies like chat bots, blockchain and AR/VR to solve real business problems.
