Ensuring Perl's Viability on FreeBSD

7 November 2018

New York

Added 01-Jan-1970

This meeting will be a joint effort by New York Perlmongers (NY.PM) and the New York City BSD User Group (NYCBUG). Members of the two organizations have collaborated this year to implement a major quality assurance program for the Perl 5 language's core distribution.

* Smoke-testing Perl 5 development branches and testing against CPAN libraries

* Why we chose to test on FreeBSD

* How we customized Vagrant/VirtualBox for this purpose

* How this enhances the viability of both Perl and FreeBSD

Presenters: Jim Keenan and Andrew Villano

We urge you to arrive a few minutes early so that you can order dinner and drinks at Suspenders, a long-time supporter of NYCBUG.

Suspenders is located on the west side of Greenwich St, one block north of Rector St or two blocks south of the World Trade Center. Nearby subway stops: #1 to Rector St; R and W to Rector St; #4 and 5 to Wall St.
