The Foreign Exchange Market: Global Impact from the Global Code

The Foreign Exchange market (or Forex) is the largest market in the world in terms of trading volume.  This session will address the recently established Global Code, discuss what led to its adoption, and opine on what impact it's had within the Forex market.  We'll highlight the role of anonymous trading in Forex and how this might differ from anonymous trading in other markets as well as compare the 'last look' venues against the typical firm offers provided within most equity exchanges.  Panelists will discuss the pros and cons for trading in unregulated markets vs. regulated markets.  Discussion will also define the subtle but important differences between trading in currency futures and trading in the spot forex market.

The Art and Science of Maintaining Compliance

Market participants are finding it difficult to remain in compliance with the terms and conditions of their contracts and license agreements with third-party data providers.  There are many reasons for this: rapid changes in technology, the rise in the vague and ambiguous language used in contracts, or users who are not well versed in contract language.  This session will highlight some of the ways that users can maintain compliance with their data providers.  Whether it be mapping lineage to keep track of data elements, enhancing communication between data managers and product developers, or creating an in-house education program, this session aims to provide attendees with insight that will create more audits with fewer surprises.
