Mesos Meetup #17

27 February 2018

London

Added 01-Jan-1970

Hi Everyone! We're back with February's meet up. A huge thanks to the lovely people at Mesos for agreeing to host us and also providing the beers at WeWork!!

If you are interested in speaking at a future meetup please get in touch via the google form here - https://goo.gl/forms/WoGMDhAKZcIuOUk53

Plan for the evening is as follows;

6.30pm - Arrive - Beers, Pizza and socialising

7pm - Talk 1 - Martin Westergaard, Infrastructure Automation Engineer @ Humio - Humio is a log management database tuned for high ingest and intuitive querying. Therefore it's a great fit for the Mesos platform. We set out with a very clear goal: Harvesting logs should have zero-impact on the development and operations team on the Mesos platform.

In this talk, we'll first cover what Humio is to get an understanding of the requirements and then look at how we ended up with the architecture that we did.

7.45pm - Talk 2 - Joel Jacobson - Field Operations @ Mesosphere - Operating Kubernetes at Scale

Kubernetes is an amazing technology, but getting it up and running in your data center or VMs is challenging. In this technical session you will learn how best to deploy, operate, and scale Kubernetes clusters from one to hundreds of nodes using DC/OS. You will learn how to:

Deploy Kubernetes in a secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant manner on DC/OS
Solve operational challenges of running a large/multiple Kubernetes cluster(s)
One-click deploy big data stateful and stateless services alongside a Kubernetes cluster

8.30pm - End

Look forward to seeing you all there!
