Title of Talk:
Testing event driven systems with Kafka®

Abstract:
The essence of testing an event driven system is simple. Write the input events, allow some time for them to be processed, then check the output matches our expectation. This presentation will start by describing some of the challenges we faced at Funding Circle while attempting to write tests like this before introducing "The Test Machine". The Test Machine facilitates the authoring of rock solid tests that can be run against a variety of targets.

Bio:
Andy Chambers is a software engineer at Funding Circle building the systems that ensure investors get their fair share of the money repaid by borrowers. He came for the chance to develop in Clojure, and stayed to help realize the goal of becoming an event-driven organization.
