UX isn’t just design. It’s… The Past, Present and Future

It’s all about context and conversations. Designers like to think bigger, so let’s talk about design in the wider sense. This time, we're looking how design and tech has effected the past, how that past effects our current thinking and how we're creating solutions for the future.

This time we have two thought-provoking talks:

---- 'THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF US' ----
Speaker: Bill Tribble

You probably don't want to hear this talk. In fact, I don't even want to talk about this. Can we not just avoid the subject? There are so many cool games and shows I could be watching on this glass rectangle!

No, we can't. As designers, we have incredibly powerful tools to effect change. There's an elephant in the room, and we need to face it. Let's talk about how we can make the world a better place for billions of people.

---- 'QUANTUM UX - HOW TRUST IN TECH MAY FADE AND DIE' ----
Speaker: Paul Woodley

This is a talk about the future - our near future. A story about how Quantum Computers and the utopian ideals of the silicon valley pioneers may combine to fundamentally change the trust people have in technology.

With technology being so ingrained in our everyday lives, effecting our decisions from what to buy through to who to vote for, and quantum supremacy being achieved just recently, will designers have to change their thinking? What can designers do? Should they do anything?
