Come and meet some of the leading women in data science and machine learning share their stories of success and see what is going on in the data science space that makes it a field worth pursuing.

We'll have 3 speakers presenting for 20 mins, shift to a panel discussion and then leave ample time for networking.

Ilieva Ageenko - Ilieva is the Managing Director in Grant Thornton's Financial Services Advisory practice focusing in the areas of Fintech innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Model risk. Ilieva has more than 20 years of industry experience leading digital and multi-channel services and advanced analytics. Prior of joining Grant Thornton, she had executive roles in Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Ilieva was the driving force behind the commercialization of mobile banking in the US market and had influence the way millions of customers conduct financial transactions using the mobile devices. Ilieva serve on the Board of Advisors for startups and advocates for STEM career opportunities for women and she is the author of the book Connecting My Dots. Ilieva has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and a Masters in Mathematical Economics.

Kelly Shaffer - Kelly is a Senior Data Scientist at IBM, currently building out a brand new Data Science team within the Accounting function. Previously she held 3 data science roles of increasing responsibility across the HR, Treasury, and Supply Chain functions at GE. She received her B.S. in Actuarial Mathematics and her M.S. in Data Science. Discovering her passion for statistics far too late in life, she spends a great deal of time making sure girls are exposed to STEM earlier than she was. Kelly is also a scuba diver passionate about ocean conservation. She currently volunteers her data skills to the Galapagos Whale Shark Project, analyzing geospatial sensor data to map the migratory and birthing patterns of whale sharks.

Kavya Krishna - Born and brought up in a small town of Western India, Kavya is all about experiments. She started her career in Data after graduating from UMass Amherst in Computer Science. After working for a few years in Business Intelligence and Data Architecture, She recently started working with Finance- Subscribers Management and Analysis at SiriusXM to help them with technology and their Data needs. As she learns more about the world of Finance, she's been experimenting with Data science and Finance. An advocate of Women education, she also co-founded SOWCoders (Society of Women Coders), a non profit that conducts free coding camps for girls in developing countries.
