Reading

Added 01-Jan-1970

For our Summer Thames Valley DevOps meetup, we'll be gazing over the cityscape of Reading from the eleventh floor of the Thames Tower, in collaboration with nubeGO Cloud Consultancy and courtesy of our hosts Austin Fraser.

Join us as we share journeys from GitHub and DiffBlue.

As a special first for DevOps Thames Valley, we also invite you to bring your kids - there is a special place for budding DevOps superstars to be entertained while you listen to the talks. Just let us know if you'd like to take advantage of our free childcare on the night by sending us a message through meetup.com - we need to know ages, numbers and any special requirements.

6.30pm - 7pm - Drinks, Food & Chat

7pm - 7.45pm - Claire Knight, Senior Engineer @ GitHub:
GitHub Actions. What they are, how to use them, and why you might want to. We’ll also cover how to create Actions, how to combine them, and various things in between.

7.45pm - 8.30pm - Darren Royle and Vlastimil Zeman, DiffBlue:
Into The Serverless Playground: How DiffBlue went from installing appliances inside major banks, with a bi-monthly release cycle and an 'Enterprise grade' manual QA cycle, to a completely server-and-database-less offering in two months. With lessons learned, technologies that were set on fire, mistakes you should really avoid, and other top tips about continuous integration and deployment in this brave new world!

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements for the event.

Our hosts Austin Fraser are kindly supplying Food and drinks on the night.
