Abstract:
On most e-commerce sites when we search for a product we get a nice list of products, perhaps in the 'recommended' ordering. Why is this done? And more interestingly how? It turns out machine learning has a key role to play. John will be introducing some of the key concepts in learning to rank, how to use them in productions and some of their pitfalls
