๐Ÿ’ป Speaker from Industry 1 - Sue Daley, Associate Director Technology and Innovation at techUK: 'AI Ethics and the potential for AI to positively change lives'

Sue leads techUK's technology and innovation strategy. This includes driving techUK’s cloud computing, big data, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (including digital ethics) and IoT work programmes as well as campaigns on innovative policy and emerging and transformative technologies key to the UK’s digital future.

She has been recognised as one of the most influential women in tech in the U.K and is in the UK Big Data 100 as a key influencer in driving forward the data agenda. A regular industry speaker, Sue is also a judge of the annual UK Cloud Awards.

๐Ÿ’ป Speaker from Industry 2 - Jon Thor Sigurleifsson, Co-Founder & CMO, Syzygee. 'Building a business with AI-for-good'

Growing up in Iceland, Jon Thor had a lot of questions about the world and always knew that he wanted to explore it but the more he learned, the more he realised he didn't just want to explore it, he wanted to change it.

Jon Thor started working on creative ventures at an early age and by the time he was 25 he had played in several bands, published a book and written/directed several plays. Now in 2019 Jon Thor has founded Syzygee. Syzygee is a software as a service that uses a powerful machine-learning algorithm to tell you exactly how to land your dream job.

Technical Track:

๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ’ป Technical Speaker: Ryan England, CTO, Syzygee. 'Roll-your-own using the open source kits: 6 key ML algorithms which may be helpful to those just starting out'.

Coming from a background in the insurance industry, before moving into the world of advertising, Ryan has led tech teams large and small in developing machine learning algorithms and personalisation engines for a multitude of uses.

With a naturally inquisitive mind, Ryan has always sought to find opportunities to use tech for social change. Alongside Jon Thor at Syzygee is working on using artificial intelligence to empower job-hunting candidates to find the job they were destined to do.
