Croydon DevOps Meetup is back for an April event and its all about Security, Security, Security, where we are delighted to host Steve Giguere from Aqua and James Relph from Capgemini who will be discussing the operational safety of your containers and Kubernetes clusters.

Agenda for April meet-up :

• 17:45 - 18:00: Meet & Greet

• 18:00 - 18:45 - Using Containers Securely and Successfully - James Relph

Abstract:
Many organisations are using containers but it’s easy for teams to start treating them as a traditional VM and forget the security and operational implications that containers introduce. This talk will cover and demo some of the fundamental security and operational issues that containers introduce but also how using containers can save time, improve development practices and how they can provide a security benefit.

• 19:00 - 19:45(ish) - OpenSource security tools for Cloud Native Environments - Steve Giguere

Abstract:
Securing production workloads used to be the responsibility of information security specialists. In a DevOps culture, security becomes part of everyone's responsibility as security shifts left.
In this talk, we will look at the cloud native threat landscape and some recent high profile attacks. We will review how security can be embedded at every stage of the CI/CD pipeline, and demonstrate opensource tools that can be used to assess the security posture of your kubernetes cluster and container images.

• 19:45 - 20:00 - Close & Networking
• 20:00 - late - Drinks in local boozer
