Meetup Details:

Session 1

Azure DevOps provides developer services to support teams to plan work, collaborate on code development, and build and deploy infrastructure and applications. Developers can work in the cloud using Azure DevOps Services or on-premises using Azure DevOps Server.

This session is a high level introduction to Azure DevOps aimed at both technical and non-technical people, and some brief demos to help you get started with your first project. It's intended as backgrounder to the follow-on session covering Azure DevOps in practice on a real project.

Presenters

Nick has been with Microsoft for 12 years and is currently focussed on Application Innovation and DevOps with Azure. Nick has over 30 years' experience in IT and has been using Azure since 2010. He loves helping customers find blue oceans and do things they didn’t think were possible. Nick was born in the Black Country and is passionate about developing a thriving Azure Community in the Midlands.

Session 2

Azure DevOps has been instrumental in the development of Sol-Tec’s new Velocity Self Service product, allowing a small team to focus on building new features and rapid iteration. This talk will cover the experience and benefits of using Azure DevOps from day one for source control, continuous integration and deployment, automated testing and more.

Presenter

Jim Gregory is the senior developer at Sol-Tec, leading a small team developing cloud-based software solutions. He's been developing with .NET, SQL, and many other Microsoft technologies for over 15 years, and is now focused on delivering products quickly and efficiently in Azure using Devops principles and practices.
