Our Speaker - Ammar Jawad, Machine Learning & AI Manager for Hotels.com at Expedia Group

Ammar decided to transition away from marketing to data science five years ago. Early on in his career he grew frustrated with the art of marketing, despite having worked at some of the largest tech companies in Denmark. Today, after more than 50 online courses completed spanning data analysis, Machine Learning, statistics, and coding, he is entirely self-taught. Ammar works as a Product Manager where he intersects data science to build products powered by Machine Learning.

The Talk

The talk is for product managers, marketers and business executives who struggle with demystifying how Machine Learning works and how to apply it in their domain. Ammar is in a unique position to peel away the layers. He has a foot in both camps: one in business and the other in Data Science with hands-on machine learning experience.

Key takeaways:

  • Brand new framework to help you evaluate whether a product feature should be powered by machine learning;
  • A better understanding of how machine learning can deliver truly personalised product experiences;
  • Understanding the link between machine learning and experimentation;
