Firstly, we'd like to thank you all for joining this meetup group! We decided to create it after presenting some ideas about WebAssembly at another meet up last summer. There was such a good response to the presentations that we thought we could go one further and create a bigger group to promote this wonderful technology.
In terms of our backgrounds, we're both software engineers, we love technology and we also love meeting like-minded people. That's our motivation for this group. We believe that when you get a bunch of clever people together, good things happen.
So with that in mind, we'd like to invite you all to our first WebAssembly London meeting. To get this off the ground, we're partnering with our other meet up, "It works on my machine" (IWOMM). I will be providing an ‘Intro to WebAssembly’, followed by a more in-depth demo by Carlos Baraza. Then we’ll hand it over to you, the audience, to try coding a simple demo compiling to WebAssembly. Don't worry if you get stuck, we’ll be there to help you along the way (if we can ;)). There will also be a written step-by-step tutorial to follow during the workshop.
