They work closely with governments, businesses, and communities to develop and implement effective climate policies and initiatives. Their mission is to create a more sustainable future and mitigate the impacts of climate change. They are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join the team.

As a Data Analyst working within the climate policy/climate change space, you will play a critical role in gathering, analysing, and interpreting data related to climate change and sustainability. Your work will directly contribute to the development and evaluation of climate policies, as well as the monitoring of progress towards climate targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets related to climate change, sustainability, and environmental factors.
  • Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into actionable analyses.
  • Conduct in-depth research to gather relevant data from various sources, including scientific reports, databases, and government publications.
  • Generate reports and data visualisations to effectively communicate findings to internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of climate policies and initiatives using appropriate metrics and indicators.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in climate change research, data analysis methods, and sustainability practices.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of data collection tools, methodologies, and data management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and visualisation.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with data management and analysis techniques, including data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
  • Knowledge of climate change science, climate policies, and sustainability practices.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex data and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Passionate about sustainability and climate change issues, with a genuine interest in making a positive impact.
