Are you a competent Software Engineer with the capability to spearhead the technology department? Are you comfortable being a hands-on figure who can oversee the full engineering lifecycle along with working in tandem with the product team? If so, this fully remote opportunity towards a talent such as yourself! In this position you will be working closely with the CTO, CEO and heads of both product and data analytics as part of helping define the technology strategy of the business to deliver the clients products to their exceptional standards. The ideal candidate will be technically strong on a full stack basis in order to work with both the front & back-end teams, but primarily be most at home within Node.js/Javascript along with libraries such as React, Redux & Express APIs. You will have great autonomy over the future direction of the company's software engineering department to which you will help pave the way for future success.

Lead Node.js Software Engineer

The Lead Node.js Software Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

Position Requirements:

• Take ownership for the full technology function, architecture-based decisions & technical delivery in a hands-on position to which you will shape project architecture and be responsible for making important technical decisions.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle, overseeing the design, development & deployment of a highly scalable software application.
• Review code to ensure the following of best practises by delivering high quality & testable code.
• Provide strong technical leadership for teams both in house and outsourced externally.
• Work closely with the CTO, CEO and Lead Product Manager to drive product vision and manage expectations of stakeholders.

The Lead Node.js Software Engineer will have the following experience:

Essential:

• Exceptional Node.js & Javascript skills with extensive knowledge of frameworks (Express.js) and libraries (React, React Bootstrap, Redux).
• Great understanding of data modelling and database experience within MySQL &Postgres.
• Knowledge within automated testing from unit tests to functional/integration tests.
• Extensive experience in the deployment to cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Previous experience within the Healthcare sector.
• Experience building a team of software engineers and further mentoring and leading them.
• Previous usage of service orientated architecture, microservices and application development with deployment to cloud.
