Network Engineer - Cisco & Packet Core Specialist - Berkshire - Hybrid - OUTSIDE IR35

2-3days on-site (depending on experience)

The role of the Network Engineer:

The position reports to the Network Design Architect and is in charge of the overall development and daily maintenance of my clients network and related services. In order to create and preserve technological connections between my clients and these organisations, this function also necessitates communication with clients and partners.

Required abilities of the Network Engineer:

* A solid CCNA or part CCNA will be taken into consideration for a successful candidate. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of data centre design and be eager to advance their knowledge and abilities to the CCNP level.
* Knowledge of Cisco ASR, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Nexus hardware.
* A strong advantage is having a thorough understanding of any or all of the following technologies: ACLs, PBRs, NAT, ACLs, route-maps, prefix-lists, SSL VPN, HSRP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, MPLS L3 VPN, IPSEC, VRF, etc.

* Knowledge of protocol analysis and packet capture is advantageous.
* It helps to be familiar with SNMP management tools.
* SDN exposure is advantageous.
* Knowledge of cellular Packet Core technologies, such as GGSN, SGSN, HLR, and UGW, is very advantageous.

* Requires strong Excel, Word, and Visio proficiency as well as the capacity to communicate with clients via phone and email.

* A keen analytical mind capable of identifying problems and addressing them, as well as a high attention to detail.
