Project Manager - Hybrid - £65,000

We are working with a leading financial services firm, providing innovative solutions to their clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team and drive the successful delivery of our projects.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of projects within the financial services sector. Your primary focus will be on ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with stakeholders, coordinate testing cycles, and provide leadership to project teams. This role requires strong project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to estimate timelines and mitigate risks effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute projects based on the Prince2 methodology, ensuring adherence to project lifecycle and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage and engage stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and test cycles, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Direct, manage, and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Estimate project timelines and deliverables, measure and mitigate risks, and devise strategies to ensure successful project completion.
  • Identify potential inter-dependencies with other projects and communicate effectively to maintain alignment and avoid conflicts.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, provide accurate and timely reports to senior management, and escalate issues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing IT business projects, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Project management qualification, such as Agile PM certification, Prince2, APM, or equivalent.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Ability to lead by example, inspire teams, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
